challenge #5: simple.special.everyday.

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you all! Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

Let's just get right into today....

This month's challenge is called: "simple.special.everyday."

I don't know if any of you have it yet, but I have been super inspired and obsessed with Rebecca Cooper's new book called "Real.Life.Scrapbooking." lately. Rebecca just shares soooo much in this book....from journaling and layout ideas to ways to make scrapbooking fit into your real life as a mother, sister, daughter or whoever you are! I felt very liberated when I read this book for the first time...Rebecca made me realise that I'm not alone and it is possible to scrapbook with all the things that we have going on our lives. One thing I love about Rebecca's scrapbooking is how clean and simple it is. She does amazing journaling and scraps the everyday using everyday photos. So this leads us to our challenge....

I want you all to scrapbook a layout using everyday photos. That's right....no picture perfect photos here! I want you to pick 1 or more photos for your layout that make you laugh or smile, like your kids with food all over their face or a blurry shot of a special moment. 'Cause that's what the everyday is...totally and utterly special. I know when I sit down to scrap I too often skip over all the fun, cute photos where my kids are a mess or the lighting was bad or something...but these photos can all tell a story, too!! I also want you to keep this page simple...it's summer and we're busy, so just sit down and scrap a fun and simple page so you can get back to enjoying your summer!!

Here are our layouts for this month's challenge:

"simple.special.everyday." by Talia Audenart
These are 3 photos that I love and have never scrapbooked...it was fun to finally pull them out and get them on a page!

"Let me dry your tears" by Kim Loewen
I wanted to scrap how I feel whenever I hear Ryker cry. And trust me...I hear him cry more than once every day...just another part of being a momma!

Now, this month we're going to do things a little bit differently. This is going to be a ONE WEEK CHALLENGE. That's right...we will be announcing the winner one week from today, so make sure you email us your full name and your layout to thegoodieboxgirls@hotmail.com ASAP and we'll post it in the Goodie Gallery! So who wants to see what's in this months goodie box??????

You guessed it, this month our winner will be receiving a SIGNED COPY of Rebecca's book, "Real.Life.Scrapbooking."!!! How cool is that! Thanks so much for donating a copy of your book, Rebecca...we are very excited.

Okay ladies, we cannot wait to see what you do with this challenge....remember, everyday photos and keep it simple!

Kim and Talia:)
